"You are the first cause, and you are the first effect. You are the last cause and the last effect. So, inside of you is the only place that change can be made. You can indulge the illusion of changing things in the world, but unless you change them in yourself, no true change has taken place."- John-Roger, DSS
One of the most challenging things for me to do is to transform the blame I want to put on others or situations in the world is to look at myself and see what caused me to be triggered.
John-Roger said it takes great courage to see the face of God. To me that means I have to look at my judgement, hurt and misunderstanding and face them, have compassion for them, and allow them to heal, before I can "see the face of God."
It seems so much easier to blame, to play the victim and put my wounded self before my empowerment, my awareness. To put it before the God inside of me.
This can also be called worshiping a false idol.
Peace inside of me and peace in the world.
Peace be still.
