When you worry, you’re holding pictures in your mind that you want less of... What you focus upon, you become. What you focus on comes to you. So hold in your mind what you want more of." John-Roger
I remember hearing these things when I was going through an incredibly challenging time in my life. My meditations were filled with images of failure and fear, my dreams were nightmares, it's as if the negativity had completely taken over my life. How to get out? How to rise above it? How?! I could hear J-R say..."When your sick and tired of being sick and tired..." It took a lot of strength to decide to do the things I knew work. It seemed easier to fall into the fear and anger. I started working out, I listened to inspiring messages and meditations, I started being conscious of my self talk and would reframe and refocus when the negative would show up. It took work...but "I was sick and tired". Sometimes I would allow the emotions to come and "observe" them. Where were they in my body. Be the watcher and just look. Don't think about them, don't add emotional fuel to the fire....just observe. Just look. They would start dissipating. Observation...the key to letting go. It takes strength to rise above the negative. Constant vigilance. Constant focus on the good and forgive myself for the times I don't. And sometimes the Grace and beauty will show up, and you lift to the peace. LLS Richard Powell Painting by Albert Bierstadt
